What a huge pain in the butt this covid crap has been. All the more reason to ride your bike, but where to go, and what to do when everything is closed down and everyone is hiding in their homes.

In my boredom I started searching the local ads for a bike to fix up and I found an ad for a little trailer used by a fellow to haul his mountain bikes. He no longer used it and wanted to get it out of his yard so he put it up for sale for $300.00 bucks.

I asked him a few questions about registering it and as it turned out he had a plate on it but it wasn’t to the trailer and he found out that it was going to cost more than he was selling it for to have it inspected for a VIN and then register it so he said “New deal come get it out of my yard and it’s yours for free”.

So my son Keith and I fixed up the wiring, which took two days, stupid Deutsch plug and it’s stupid pin connectors. My bike has a Deutsch plug that I had put on to match the one that came with my Unigo. After winning at the wiring we put on new digital turn signal lenses due to faulty existing and repainted it. Like new for $60.00.

The trailers first official use was to get top soil for my wife. She says she needs to clean up the front garden. The bags are still in the garage, two weeks so far.

The second big project was a run to the bottle depot and Costco for cases of OJ for the airplane.

I decided I was not buying more top soil so I searched again and found a fellow giving away top soil. All I need to do was back up to the pile in his driveway which was about 18 km away.

After buying a huge tote at Home Depot and making two trips 72 kms in total, I had enough of the dirt work. Oh well it was something to do.
