Motorcycle Travel With A Little Trailer

Trailer Hitch and Isolation Wiring Harness

We needed to add a trailer hitch for our Unigo trailer and all the reviews had positive remarks for the Add On Accessories Hitch and Isolation wiring harness.

IMGP7703The trailer hitch is well designed with only one snag. You must align and hand tighten all bolts into the holes on the back cross member or you will have trouble getting them in. My son Keith and I had to pull on one side really hard to get them in and started. On the 2007 they installed an amplifier right in the way which made it even harder. Other than that it’s a good hitch.

Here is the crossmember that can be removed by removing four bolts to pull your rear tire out. The vertical piece with the rings is where the receiver goes in and the chain goes on the rings seen at the bottom. My son Keith and I struggled with the hitch for quite some time. The 2007 has a radio amplifier mounted in a plastic box right behind the rear wheel where the hitch goes. At first I didn’t think I was going to be able to use the hitch I had on the 2004 but after loosening it off, pulling and prying we got it all lined up.

For added safety I retighten all bolts after a trip, just to make sure. I once found a side brace bolt loose.

Overall a very good hitch which I paid less than $200.00 for.

See Setting Up The Unigo Trailer and Goldwing for the installation of the hitch and wiring.
